Fluoroplastic-Etch®

The revolutionary sodium/naphthalene etchant that makes Teflon® bondable.

About
Fluoroplastic-Etch®

Fluoroplastic-Etch® is a sodium/naphthalene-based etchant with a distinctive dark green to black color.
The product changes the surface of Teflon® and other fluoropolymers, allowing adhesion and bonding.

The solution is supersaturated with sodium and contains modified solvents that prevent spontaneous ignition on air contact.
Fluoroplastic-Etch® has a density of 0.92 and is flammable on contact with open flame or high temperatures.

How Does Fluoroplastic-Etch® work?

The unique sodium/naphthalene formula of Fluoroplastic-Etch® chemically reacts with the surface of Teflon® and other fluoropolymers.
This controlled reaction creates a microscopically active structure that enables adhesion with adhesives.
This creates a stable, durable bonding base in seconds.

FAQ

What is the delivery time for Fluoroplastic-Etch®?

We always have stock for a quick delivery. For smaller quantities, we can ship goods as early as the day following an order.

Is the product safe for long-term use in high-temperature applications?

Sure! Our Fluoroplastic-Etch withstands temperatures of more than 100°C!

Can I have small quantities etched in your lab?

Yes, definitely. We have an equipped laboratory to etch your pieces. This can be done from just 1 piece to very large quantities. The etched pieces are then delivered to you ready for bonding.

Can Fluoroplastic-Etch® be diluted? If so, with what?

Fluoroplastic-Etch® can certainly be diluted. You can use FLUOROPLASTIC-THIN to dilute the product. This allows you to reduce the viscosity when you need for example to etch very thin tubes or holes. The maximum ratio is 2:1 (Etch/Thin).

How do I store Fluoroplastic-Etch® correctly?

We recommend keeping the product away from heat sources and UV-light. Always store the Fluoroplastic-Etch in a cool and safe place. It should not be frozen. We guarantee up to 6 months shelf life if stored properly.

To which countries do you ship Fluoroplastic-Etch?

We ship worldwide!
